The Customs/Immigration officials on Culelbra in the Spanish Virgin Islands are very pleasant. Although they do work on "Island Time", on several occasions they have made an extra effort to save us a few dollars. They also have been willing to discuss the area, making several useful suggestions. The contrast to other immigration stations in the area is startling. It is worth going out of your way to clear in here.
Customs is located at the airport. Anchor in the harabor. Instead of going in to the town dock, as would seem prudent, look for a dock to the east in front of a small municipal park. ses that dock, and walk over to the airport.
Charters from the USVI need to clear customs (because of USVI free trade zone status). This can accomplished with a phone call to (787)742-3531.
