The Saronic Gulf is Southwest of the city of Athens. The Argolic Gulf is the sea South of Nafplio. Both are often referred to as Argosaronikos.
[edit] Weather
The winds in the Saronic and Argolic Gulf are usually mild and ideal for sailing. While during the trip from Poros to Spetses (or vice versa) you will find annoying the frequent change of direction/strength of wind, in the Argolic Gulf you will find a paradise for sailing!
In the Saronic gulf, the sea can get quite wavy with strong North winds. Also, keep in mind that in strong North winds, when you are sailing south of elevated areas, it is preferable to keep well away from land to avoid the strong and turbulent gusts created by them.
[edit] Islands / Archipelagos
The main destinations in the area are:
Aegina · Epidavros · Poros · Hydra · Dokos · Ermioni · Spetses · Portoheli · Astros · Nafplion
