San Sebastian is the capital of La Gomera. The town is quite small and not developed for tourism. There is a harbour, where speed ferries shuttles between Tenerife and La Gomera and a recommendable, modern marina in San Sebastian.

[edit] Approach

Relaxed. Coming from the north, you should keep clear from the breakwater. After turning into the entrance, watch out for crossing ferries.

In the marina you should wait to be advised to a berth. It can be pontoons or the quay near the fuelling station. The harbour dues will be calculated on basis of the size of the pontoons (5 x 15m), the costs we be significant below €30,- [last updated: 10/2006].

The marina is in a very good condition. The pontoons are as well as the washing rooms. There are no additional costs for the showers, but you have to get an access card from the harbour master.

The weather information at the harbour office is very good, too. Daily updated weather forecasts and satellite images are available. The harbour masters are friendly; you can ask nicely if you need something special.

The only drawback: the ferry terminal will cause some noise. In the early morning the operation will start.
