Kristiansand is a large city with visible industrial sites.
Coming from the sea you can choose, to leave the peninsula on your portside to call the marina or to leave the peninsula on starboard, to go to a fishing harbor. The linear distance between both harbors is just a few meters, but by boat you have to calculate 2 nm to round the peninsula

[edit] Marina
coordinate: 58°08'34.14"N 008°00'6.73"E
You will moor at pontoon, sometimes with mooring buoys. The berths for visiting guests are roughly at the middle of the marina. The marina offers every infrastructure, including fuel station. Supermarkets are near in direction of the city center.
Attention: the showers are extremely expensive (30 NOK), even measured in Norwegian means. For this, you can shower about 7 min, so it is possible to share one shower coin with two persons [last update: 08/2006].
[edit] Fishing harbour
coordinate: 58°08'21.03"N 007°59'46.60"E
The ambiance of the fishing harbor is affected by industry. There are some jetties for small boats and a pier on the other side. There is no infrastructure like showers.
[edit] Tips
- Kristiansand and the southern costs of Norway is test area for submarines. With a little luck, you can see one.
