[edit] Lights

On the port side of the entrance of Loch Inchard at the rocks of Rubha Na Leacaig there is 360 degrees yellow Fl(2) 10.0s. In the small entrance if the harbour there are red and green Fl 4.0s lights

[edit] Approach

Loch Inchard is a deep (more then 20 meters) water, it is recommended to use the depth meter because of un undeep point (3 meters) at the starboard side of the Loch. Sail more at the port side of the Loch after passing the light at Rubha Na Leacaig (see above).

[edit] Entry

Sail only into the entrance after it opens up, there are red and green lights to indicate the small channel. Depth in the channel is around 2 meters at low tide. Parts of the entrance can be undeep.

[edit] Berthing

The harbour is an important deepsea fishing port, but at the far end at the starboard side there can be a place at the quay. The quays are made of steel for fishing boats, so use planks with your fenders.

[edit] Facilities

Thee are showers at the building for the fisherman. A small shop with groceries is at the north side af the harbour behind a few houses. Eating out (fish & chips) is possible at the mansion for deepsea fisherman.

[edit] General

The harbour is made possible with subsidies from the EU and was the main fishing port for the north of the UK. After the new fishing quota rules from the EU it is not the busy fishing port Scotland was hoping for.

[edit] Tourism

A four miles walk North of Kinlochbervie itself lies Sandwood Bay, which is argued by many to be the most beautiful beach in the entire British Isles.
