The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency, not part of the United Kingdom. It issues its own Sterling (GBP) currency, and has its own post office - but is in a common customs area with the UK, so no special formalities are required.

Drying harbour accessible HW +/- 2.5 hours. Good shelter in harbour - but entrance in strong East or North East Winds not advised. 5 Seasonal deep water moorings in Ramsey Bay off harbour entrance by Queen's Pier (do not land on Pier) available summer only - untenable in E winds.

Main port, administrative and shopping centre of the Isle of Man. Small marina above impounding flap gate (flap open HW +/- 2 hours approx), and lifting vehicle bridge. Call Douglas Harbour Control on VHF channel 12 for opening of lifting bridge.
Large Tesco supermarket within walking distance of inner harbour marina - chandlery & most services in or around harnour.

Attractive West Coast Harbour with all-tide outer harbour, and flap-gate impounded inner harbour through swinging pedestrian footbridge. Outer harbour uncomfortable in winds from N to NE, untenable in strong winds from these directions.
Seasonal moorings in outer harbour - summer only.
New (2009) marina in inner harbour, or berths on harbour wall side. Chandlery and most facilities in harbour or Peel town, within walking distance.
