Horta is probably the largest marina of the Azores. Numberous yachts will stay here on their way from the Caribbean or North America to the Mediterranean or Europe.
The approach is easy; the marina is perfectly protected against swell.
The marina offers all neccessary infrastructures, including showers, a laundry, etc. In the town, directly at the marina, there are also various shops, internet cafes, restaurants and bars. Horta is dominated by tourism.

- A legend is the bar Peter's Cafe Sport. Even Sir Francis Chichester stayed here for a drink.
- A legend says, it will bring bad luck, not to leave a painting on the pier. Along the whole marina there are paintings or signatures from sailors which moored here.
