The beacons carry a segmented rwg light. Stay in the w sector untill you pick up the segmented rwg light on the coast gaurd station these will guide you straight into the anchorage.

The island is surrounded by numerous sandbanks, so one has to be careful when approaching the narrow canal between the banks. The tidal streams are strong, and strong winds against the tide makes it a difficult entrance

Holy Island (also called Lindisfarne) is located at the north-east coast of England. Holy Island is a tidal island, connected to the mainland by a causeway and is cut off twice a day by tides.
