Enkhuizen is one of the cities of the "golden century" of the Netherlands because it was a location of the "Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie". Because of its history, Enkhuizen has many places of interests and is a good place to visit.
But Enkhuizen is also important because its locks (the "Navidukt") between the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer. You can get from one water to the other through locks either here, or in Lelystad.

[edit] Marinas
[edit] Compagnieshaven
coordinate: 52°42'15"N 005°18'00"E
This marina is very large and offers berths for over 600 yachts. You can get an idea about the size, when you approach. The masts of the yachts are visible from far.
However, this marina is quite nice and a good place to stay. The washing rooms are in very good condition. Also, there are different bars and restaurants, a chandlery and a small supermarket. The Zuidersee-Museum is just around the corner.
In the evening the marina can get crowded. Try to call over VHF the harbour master before coming in.

[edit] Buitenhaven
coordinate: 52°41'55"N 005°17'10"E
This is the historic harbour of Enkhuizen. Here, you will find a lot of space. You will moor with up to 12 yachts in packages. It is not a good place to find silence and loneliness, but great offers a great atmosphere, when hundreds of sailors are enjoying the evening on their boats.
Supplies: Electricity and water is available, but if the harbour is full, it can become difficult to get electricity or water. There are two large washing rooms, both in good condition.
If you enter the harbour, the harbour master will come around by dinghy and show you a place to moor. If the harbour is full, it will be indicated by two red signals at the entrance.
[edit] Oude Haven
coordinate: 52°42'01"N 005°17'24"E
Oude Haven is romantic, but narrow and you will not get berths every time. You have to pass a bridge, which will be operated by the harbour master.
Washing rooms are behind the bridge in direction of the Buitenhaven.
In the evening you can experience wonderful silence.
