[edit] Sailing areas
- Desolation Sound - deep water Glacier fed inlet in British Columbia. Noted for warm water swimming and great prawning. Favourite destination for boaters because of its spectacular fjords, mountains, and wildlife.
- The Gulf Islands - Another favourite BC destination because if its myriad safe anchorages, benign weather and close proximity to Victoria and Vancouver. In the Gulf Islands you are always a short distance from charming towns and quite bays. It is a great place for a first cruise for the novice yachtsman.
